A lot of the park is a beautiful upland forest. It's believed that, historically, there was a Coastal Oak Laurel forest, with some areas still intact. Mountain laurel stands are throughout the park with beautiful evergreen leaves and lovely pink flowers. A grassland prairie sits in the middle of the park, the result of a garbage excavation that unearthed a sandy barren. This gave the area more of a pine barrens environment, planted with blue stem grassland and white pines, it creates a unique mixture of habitats and transition zones that host a diversity of wildlife.
